Poems exploring the relationship of faith, identity, love and choices.

Faith

Identity

Love

All struggles come from these

All struggles are healed by these

When one is weak it tests the others

When one is strengthened it refines the others

When one is perfected

The others are perfected too

And who but Christ

Has paid the price

To know and live this truth?

————

Do you know who you are?

Does your neighbor?

Who but Christ knew so perfectly?

That every choice

Every moment

Is dependent on what we know

About our divine identity.

We wouldn’t hurt ourselves

Or our neighbor

Make dumb choices

Or commit careless sins

If we could see as God sees us

And remember who we’ve always been.

————

Why judge the man

Who is poor in understanding who he is?

Who stumbles blindly

On the path back to God

Rather teach him

Through Christ’s love

And he might remember who he is

Shine your light

For to know who you are

Is to love.

To know is to love…

Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Matt 22:36-39
