At his trial
He stood in silence
He was on trial for me
For my sins
And my transgressions
But never pointed the finger, at me
I see him standing
Bent over
Taking every lash
He who could unbend a woman
Chose not to unbend himself
But was lifted up
Upon the cross
For every man to see
Lifted, upon the cross
For you
And for me
You, human
You, child of God
For you
He let go
And forgave the world
We let go, to hold onto him
To be lifted up
To where he is
On trial still, before our Father
For our judgements
Against each other
Against ourselves
Because, we know not what we do
So be silent now
With your lashes
Stand up straight
And lift your brother too
Climb the housetops
The hills
And the mountains,
Together we shout!
Of the miracles he wrought
The salvation he brought
The redemption that awaits us there
In the courts above
Where the trials are done
When every knee
Will at once declare
In silence no more, but in action
Let him go
Let him free
The trial has never been fair
Peace has won
We are One
We are silent no more.
in silence
