FLIGHT at the Leonardo

Have you ever dreamed of flying? Do you love avaitation? Do you have a kid who is fascinated with airplanes or wants to become a pilot? Or have you ever just wanted to run across the wings of a plane?

Well, Utah is now home to FLIGHT at The Leonardo in Salt Lake City, where you can actually run across the wingspan of a giant, C-131. The aircraft is so large that to get it into the museum, they actually had to take off part of the wall of the building. Additionally, the wingspan is so big that it only clears the walls of the exhibit by six inches on either side.

The reason The Leonardo chose an exhibit about Flight is because it was one of Leonardo da Vinci’s biggest passions during his life. And, since he is their namesake, they thought it would be a good fit. There will even be a full-sized replica of Leonardo da Vinci’s very first man-powered flying machine on display in the exhibit. I love that he dreamed of flying, who hasn’t?

Bring your kids and give them the chance to sit in the cockpit of the C-131 and imagine what it would be like to fly. But of course you don’t have to be a kid to enjoy this. This plane is huge and would allow the kid in all of us to enjoy it. There will also be many other things to explore and many surprises not yet revealed.

Also, right now you can get some pretty awesome deals to visit the exhibit at a great price with awesome perks all while supporting their fundraising effort to pay for this home-grown Utah exhibit. If you back the exhibit with $5 that gets you a ticket to the exhibit, which is a $13 value. But the $30 donation is actually so much cooler. For $30 you get 4 tickets to the exhibit, a bomber hat and goggles, plus a treat at the cafe. I hear the cafe food is amazing.

But if you are as excited as me, a $50 pledge will get you 4 tickets to the exclusive kickoff event called, The World’s Largest Field Trip, which is perfect for families! There is going to be a paper airplane launch off of the Salt Lake Library. If you want to mingle with the masters of paper airplane making, you don’t want to miss this!

Time is running out to back this exhibit in its early stages. Personally, I think it would be really neat to be able to say I helped this amazing exhibit originate in Utah. I hope it will stay for many years to come. To see all options for backing FLIGHT click here. The more you can support this exhibit the more fantastic the rewards.

The Leonardo is located at: 209 East 500 South, Salt Lake City, Utah 84111

Kick off event is on August 5, 2016 at 1pm

Please share with everyone. You don’t have to be a pilot to enjoy this exhibit, although I hear President Uchtdorf won’t be missing it.

Together we can help The Leo take Flight! Are you #readyforliftoff
