Pray then Work

In Shorthand by Wendy2 Comments

When praying about the sisters you visit teach, ask God what their temporal and spiritual needs are. If nothing comes to mind consider asking her these three questions:

What can I help you clean?

What projects can I help you finish?

When can I give you time for yourself?

Sound familiar?

And then maybe, just maybe she will open up to you about her real needs, both temporal and spiritual, as you work as one side-by-side.

  1. Love these questions. I hope we would be willing to step out of our comfort zones and allow others to serve us. Sometimes our vulnerabilities keep us from letting others see our weaknesses, but through service we grow closer together.

And it is through our vulnerabilities that we connect. This is a great example of this principle. http://www.thehouseofhendrix.com/2015/04/01/why-women-rock/

Although I think these three questions are easier to answer than “Is there anything I can do for you?” Yes, but I’m too ashamed to say, is usually how I feel.

But I am learning from the example of others. I wrote about an example I saw in this post. http://www.wendysantiano.com/shorthand/what-we-really-do-for-each-other/

Just start asking them yourself and see if the trend grows:)
